When Was First Miss Universe UAE Started
In 2021, the first Miss Universe UAE competition was held, marking a pivotal moment in the history of beauty contests in the UAE. The event was announced in October 2021, and auditions were held to find women of different origins in UAE. The event was to happen in Dubai on the 7th of November, but the event ended up being canceled before the crowning could take place. Nevertheless, the birth of Miss Universe UAE raised much interest and enabled better representation for UAE women at international beauty pageants. There was no winner in that competition because of cancelation.

In 2019, she had become Miss Friendship International and made her first appearance in an international beauty contest. In October 2024, Emilia became the first woman to be named Miss Universe UAE through a private selection process. Her win was historic because it meant she was the first official representative of the UAE at the competition. Emilia’s participation in Miss Universe gave a new boost to her career. She travelled to Mexico City, Mexico, where she met with contestants from 100+ countries. While taking part in the competition, she represented the UAE in many different ways, including fashion shows and cultural presentations, interviews, and other appearances.

Mariam is very interested in fashion and has a desire to grow a career in this business. She has a degree in sustainable fashion and aims to design original collections based on modern approach as well as cultural aspects.
Mariam is very much in touch with the rich culture and tradition of the Emirati people. She is really interested in falcon hunting and camel riding, two activities that have a cultural and historical significance in the UAE. Her interest in these activities helps her blend traditional Emirati culture with modern trends and ideas.
Her primary motivation as the Miss Universe UAE 2025 is to inspire and empower women. She is very vocal about her intentions to be the voice of women who are determined and ambitious. She strongly believes that beauty pageants are very powerful platforms that empower women’s voices and give them the opportunity to speak.
Mariam is also involved in various charitable and social initiatives. She has participated in community-focused projects like programs that provide help to people during Ramadan. Mariam wants to focus on helping communities in need, fighting poverty, empowering women, and building shared understanding and compassion among the people.
